As the founder and director of Juan Pretorius Architecture, he brings over two decades of experience in architectural design, project management, and construction. His journey began at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, where he earned his B-Tech Degree in Architectural Technology, later honing his skills at Stapleton Associates Architects before establishing his own firm in 2012.

Juan’s design philosophy is centered on the seamless integration of landscape and structure, crafting spaces that are both aesthetically captivating and highly functional. From luxury residential homes to large-scale commercial projects across South Africa and beyond—including projects in the USA, Tanzania, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and Zambia—his work speaks to his ability to balance creativity with precision.

Based in the coastal town of Port Alfred, Juan leads a dynamic studio that takes pride in understanding each client’s unique vision, ensuring that every project is a true reflection of its surroundings and inhabitants.
